Bristol Board is like a heavy paper, but is considered a board because it is made by laminating two or more sheets of paper together. This lamination makes bristol board keep it's shape even when wet media is applied. Bristol Board is great for markers, pen & ink, gouache, watercolor, airbrush, colored pencil and more. Bristol board comes in two finishes, Smooth (plate) and vellum finish. The smooth finish is great for markers, pen & ink and airbrush. The vellum finish has more tooth and is excellent when more texture is desired, such as when using colored pencil or watercolor.
